South Carolina%u2019s Law Enforcement Division raided a suspected gambling house. During the raid 14 illegal video gambling machines were confiscated and 1 man from Lexington was arrested.
Police are charging the Lexington man with running a gambling house and having illegal gambling machines in his possession. Along with the gambling machines police also confiscated eleven thousand dollars in cash from the house.

SLED said the man could face a sentence of 1 year in prison, a $500 dollar fine for each of the 14 machines found in his possession and a $2,000 dollar fine for running a gambling house.
In July of 2000 South Caroline passed laws banning video gambling. According to law enforcement officials more then 3,400 illegal gambling machines have been confiscated since the law went into effect.
South Carolina law has banned video gambling since July 2000, and officials say the agency seized 34-hundred machines in the first five years.
Police have said that gambling houses such as this one are all over the place and are hart to find. They also said that every time one of these dens are raided within a week another one opens to take its place.
